The 8th Inland Waterway Transport Lab under the project DaHar took place from 1st to 3rd of October 2012 in the town of Lom (Transimpex Hotel).
The Bulgarian Maritime Administration, the host of the Lab and one of the Bulgarian partners, presented the Port of Lom - Status Quo Report, prepared by an external expert. There were many questions about the future of the Port, connected with the General Plan for the development of the town. Cap. Toni Todorov the leader of the Project for the Bulgarian Maritime Administration explained in details the prospects for the progress.
An expert from the Bulgarian Port Infrastructure Company made a presentation for the RIS system in Bulgaria, named BULRIS.
Very attractive Port visit happened when the participants of the Lab went to the Port of Lom. The Executive Director Mr. Kostadinov gave interesting facts about theapst aand the future developments of the Port.
On the next day the Port was presented with detailed information including many diagrams, shemes and statistical numbers. A SWOT analysis was presented at the Lab too.
TG and PCT meetings closed the Lab in Lom.
