From 8th of April 2023 the access into Bulgarian sea and river ports of ships, certified by the Russian maritime register of shipping is forbidden

From 00:00 local time on the 8^th of April 2023 the access into Bulgarian sea and river ports is forbidden for all vessels which are certified by the Russian maritime register of shipping, regardless of their flag of registry.

This prohibition of access is enacted pursuant to article 3a, par. 1a of Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 of 31 July 2014 concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia's actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine, introduced by Council Regulation (EU) 2022/1904 of 6 October 2022 amending Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia's actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine (OJ, L 259I, 6.10.2022).

In the heading “Legal acts”, section “Orders”, at the electronic address Orders | www.marad.bg, the following is published:

1. The Orders of the Directors of the territorial directorates of the Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”, who are also harbour masters, issued to prohibit access of ships flying the flag of the Russian Federation and ships that have changed their Russian flag or their registration to the flag or register of any other country after 24^th February 2022. These orders also regulate the cases and conditions in which a derogation from these prohibition of access can be applied;

2. The Orders of the Directors of the territorial directorates of the Executive Agency “Maritime Administration”, who are also harbour masters, which amend the Orders in item 1 in order to prohibit access into Bulgarian sea and river ports of vessels, certified by the Russian maritime register of shipping.
